THOMAS WHITELEGG
Gameplay & System Designer
About Me

Hello There! My name is Thomas Whitelegg, I'm 21 and an extremely passionate Gameplay Designer with a drive for creating immersive experiences for players through my dynamic systems & engaging gameplay. I have a passion to develop my design skills through Competing in Game Jams and reading academic design books. I also enjoy networking and meeting new people in the industry, so please feel free to send me a message on LinkedIn!
I come from a long line of Travelling Showman and have been working on Fairgrounds across the country my entire life, this has given me a unique perspective on creating challenging game loops which are still enjoyable. This background has also given me great teamwork and Inter-personal skills, and a love of talking to people in general especially in the games industry where everyone has been so friendly and interesting.

I study Computer Games Design at Staffordshire University where I focus my studies on Game Design, focusing on Gameplay and System Design to find the most effective ways to make a target audience enjoy my games. I have achieved a Grade 1 in my Degree which I have achieved through my dedication to the craft and strong work ethic.
I love to play and make games which captures the player and gets them fully invested in the gameplay, this isn't restricted by genre so I play a variety of games from Horror (It Steals) to narrative games like (Eastward). In my free time I enjoy Urban Exploring, as I've spent most of my life visiting different cities and towns, and reading about unique topics, one of my favourite reads is Jon Ronson and his book on the American Psychic Soldier Program called "The Men who Stare at Goats".
